Somerville Firefighters Local 76 Hockey team took to the ice in the 2nd Annual Metro Fire Hockey Tournament to try and defend their title as the defending champs. Somerville Local 76 skated against Cambridge Local 30 on Sunday April 18th and came up victorious to stay undefeated in the tournament and run their record to 3-0 with wins against Arlington and Belmont in their first two games. Photos below are from the Somerville vs Cambridge game.

GAME ON!

After Cambridge took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period, Billy Costa tied up the score and Somerville added another 3 unanswered goals to finish off Cambridge by a score of 4-1.

Somerville skaters were constantly putting the pressure on the Local 30 goalie and defense.

The puck goes past the Cambridge goalie on a blast from Pat Casey, his first of two goals on the day.

Derek Nolan's shot found the back of the net to put Local 76 up 3-1 in the 2nd period.

Local 76 goalie Mike Marino was almost perfect between the pipes, allowing only 1 goal by Cambridge.

Pat "Tito Ortiz" Casey decided to dye the locks blonde for the tournament and it proved to be good luck....even if it isn't a good look!

Pat shoots......

.....and he scores! Goal number 2 on the day for Pat Casey.

Local 76 salutes their netminder Mike Marino and congratulate each other on a great win.
